This report shows application volume by source and by source type, and it separates quantity from quality. Use it to see which sources produce hires, not only applicants.
Go to Reports → Source Performance.
- Set Start Date and End Date.
- Choose which event the dates apply to.
- Application Creation includes applications created in that range. A person hired later still counts as a hire if they applied in the range. Use this to judge a source's applicant flow.
- Application Status Last Changed includes applications whose status (Active, Deselected, or Hired) last changed in that range. Use this when you want hires that happened in the period. This is the option that lines up with Time to Hire.
- Select a Business Unit. The report includes that unit and the jobs you can see in it.
- Under Job, leave Any Job, or pick one job. The list is limited to the business unit you selected.
- Under Included Candidate Sources, leave All. That includes system sources such as Indeed, plus sources candidates enter themselves.
- Under Grouping, choose Show all Candidate Sources to see each source on its own row. Choose Group by Source Type only if you want Internet, Referral, and the other types rolled up.
- Check Hide unused Candidate Sources from the report results if you do not want sources with zero applications.
Click Generate Report.
The chart is a bar chart of Active, Deselected, and Hired applications. The table under it has the counts, plus:
- % of Hired — hires from that source divided by all hires in the report.
- % of Applicants — applications from that source divided by all applications in the report.
- SPI (Source Performance Index) — % of Hired divided by % of Applicants. Above 1 means the source produces a larger share of hires than of applicants. Below 1 means the opposite.
To export, use Export Data to CSV on the report.
Reading the Indeed row
Indeed Apply applications are recorded with the source Indeed. Find that row when Grouping is Show all Candidate Sources and Included Candidate Sources is All.
- Total is Indeed application volume.
- Hired is the source-of-hire count. A hire is an application marked Hired in TalentNest.
- % of Hired is Indeed's share of hires in the report.
- SPI is the quality comparison. Use it with Hired, not instead of it. A high SPI on a tiny number of hires is not a budget case.
Organic or sponsored
The report's Indeed row mixes both. To see which one an application was, open the candidate.
On the candidate page, under the job title and location, the source badge shows Indeed, then the detail Indeed sent:
- Indeed (Website) - Indeed Organic Jobs is an organic application.
- Indeed (Website) - Sponsored - … is a sponsored application.
For a list across many candidates, email support@talentnest.com and request an export. Include the date range and, if you need it, the business unit or job.
